Headboard Lighting

Using LED Strips to Light Up Headboards in the Bedroom

The bedroom is the place where we can go to relax or get inspiration. However, everyone loves to rejuvenate the mind and body, so creating that elegant, relaxing setting is much desired by anyone. One of the key elements in producing that brilliant elegance is by using ambient and accent lighting for the bedroom.

Headboard lighting, which is the board located behind the head of the bed, is an ornate and stylish way of producing a relaxing bedroom retreat that is as styled and luxurious as any presidential suite. The beauty of headboard lighting is that it can also be operated in unison with bedside table lamps for task brightness or individually for a softened effect. And, in combination with bedroom cove and shelf lighting, it can create a wonderfully balanced room that’s perfect for rest or reading, or feeling like a king or queen.

We always recommend using a warm white color temperature, as it is necessary for achieving a calming mood. Warmer lighting is promotes the production of the sleep hormone melatonin, which is essential in generating relaxation and most importantly, a great night’s sleep.

LED strips are ideal for headboard lighting as they can provide a consistent ‘line’ of light look that will perfectly frame the back of your bed without any dark spots. Also, strip lights have an adhesive backing which makes them easy to attach for a simple installation. Moreover, as the light strip will be behind the headboard, it will be hidden out of view, creating a ‘floating’ appearance that is quite fashionable.

LED light strips are also fully dimmable, which allows for total control over the amount of light available in the room at any given time. This means that you can manage the brightness to suit your mood or activity. Strip lighting is a highly-customizable illumination system that is very upscale and at the same time can cultivate the ultimate tranquil setting.

Dimming Options:

Dimmer wall switch - The LutronⓇ LED dimmers are the perfect dimming option for a classic bedroom. The benefit of this wall switch is that it can fit into a regular wall receptacle.

Wireless Wall or Desktop Controller for Dynamic Tunable Series - Dynamic Tunable LED strip lights need specific controllers that enable turning the lights on and off, dimming and selecting a color temperature. The wireless wall dimmer has a sleek design and can be installed in a regular wall receptacle. On the other hand, the desktop dimmer can be placed on a nightstand or in a draw when not in use. These dimmers are wireless and work via radio frequency (RF) which allows the lights to be controlled from another room if needed (dimmer will work up to 100 ft/ from the receiver).
